On Monday, 27 April 2026, the Democratic Alliance (DA) will announce our Mayoral Candidate for Gamagara Local Municipality.

This announcement comes against a backdrop of ongoing service delivery failures, declining municipal performance, and a growing disconnect between the municipality and the needs of its residents. Rather than enabling efficient services and supporting local economic growth, residents are too often faced with inefficiency, poor planning, and a lack of support that makes daily life more difficult.

Gamagara requires urgent change in leadership – one that restores accountability, prioritises residents, repairs broken services, and unlocks real opportunities for growth, jobs, and dignity.

At the launch, the DA will introduce our Gamagara mayoral candidate, a leader with a proven track record of delivering results and stabilising local government performance through decisive action.

The announcement takes place on Freedom Day, underscoring the significance of true freedom as not only a constitutional right, but the freedom to live with dignity, access reliable services, and be liberated from the daily failures of local government.

This marks the beginning of a renewed effort to rebuild Gamagara into a municipality that works for its people.
