The Democratic Alliance (DA) has full confidence in Rodney Kritzinger as our mayoral candidate for Nama Khoi Municipality in the 2026 Local Government Elections.

Since 2021, Rodney has led the municipality alongside our coalition partner with determination, integrity and a clear focus on restoring stability to Nama Khoi.

He demonstrated the DA’s ability to work constructively with like-minded parties in the best interests of residents, putting responsible governance and service delivery ahead of politics.

One of Rodney’s most significant achievements has been driving the financial turnaround of Nama Khoi after years of fiscal decline. He recognised that lasting progress could not be built on a foundation of financial distress and debt.

Turning the municipality around required discipline, difficult decisions and a clear long-term vision. Under Rodney’s leadership, Nama Khoi prioritised restoring financial health through stronger governance, improved revenue collection, anti-corruption measures, responsible expenditure and hard-earned negotiations with creditors.

The results speak for themselves:

• Over the past four years, debt owed to Vaal Central Water has been reduced from R281 million to just R24 million.

• Sound financial management helped secure R114 million in national government funding to strengthen water infrastructure in the region.

• The coalition implemented the lowest electricity tariff increase in South Africa last year.

• Eskom debt will also be reduced from R210 million in 2021 to zero by the end of June 2026.

Rodney’s leadership extends beyond financial recovery. He has consistently taken initiative to unlock partnerships and sponsorships for community projects, including road and lighting improvements. During times of crisis, he has been present in affected communities, ensuring the municipality continued to serve residents despite severe financial constraints.

Thanks to Rodney’s leadership, Nama Khoi has moved from crisis management to stability.

A second term under Rodney Kritzinger will build on this progress by accelerating infrastructure renewal, improving service delivery, strengthening water security, supporting economic growth and creating cleaner, safer towns.

At the same time, responsible financial management will remain a priority, ensuring that every rand is spent responsibly and that the municipality moves from a state of financial recovery to service delivery excellence.
