The Democratic Alliance (DA) has called on the Northern Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, to ensure that those responsible for the brutal murder of 13-year-old Temarion Christians from Warrenvale, Warrenton, face the full might of the law.
Temarion, a young boy with his whole future ahead of him, was allegedly killed in his home on Saturday after stumbling upon his attackers. He lost his life for a few household items reportedly sold to fuel drug abuse.
This is not only a devastating loss for his family, but a wound felt across the entire Warrenvale community. No child should ever be subjected to such cruelty.
The DA has met with Temarion’s family to extend our condolences and we continue to offer support during this unimaginable time of grief. As a community, we must stand with them in their darkest hour.
This horrific crime once again highlights the devastating impact of drug-related criminality in our communities. Substance abuse continues to destroy lives, tear families apart, and drive violent crime.
We strongly condemn this senseless act and call on law enforcement to conduct a thorough and swift investigation. We will closely monitor the case to ensure justice is served and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Temarion’s life mattered. His death must not be in vain. Our communities deserve safety, and our children deserve to grow up free from fear.
